500 Billion Plastic Bags Used Annually!

Part Of The Problem

1 person represents 5 plastic bags per week ( grocery shopping only)

5 bags per week x 52 weeks per year = 260 plastic bags

260 bags per week x 4 family members (5 bags per family member per week) = 1040 bags saved per year

REUSABLE BAGS HELP SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT

The Solution?

1 Cotton Tote holds an average of 3 plastic bags of groceries

Are you ready to start something?
Do you want to do your part in improving our environment?
You can participate by reducing plastic bag use across North America.

Once let loose into the environment,
plastic bags can cause considerable harm,
blocking drains and suffocating wildlife mistaking the bag for food.

The biggest problem with plastic bags is that they do not readily break down
in the environment,
with estimates for the time it takes them to decompose
ranging from 20 to 1000 years.

One of the disquieting facts stemming from this
is that plastic bags can become serial killers.

Once an animal that had ingested a plastic bag dies,
 it decays
 at a much faster rate
 than the bag.

 Once the animal has decomposed,
the bag is released back into the environment more or less intact,
ready to be eaten by another misguided organism.

The incredibly slow rate of decay of plastic bags
also means that each bag we use compounds the problem,
 because the bags simply accumulate.
